The access control system is most commonly met at strategic objectives (banks, corporate headquarters, cash registers and archives of various public institutions, currency exchange houses, etc.). These systems are used not only to limit access (codes, cards or fingerprint readers), but also to control it, each entry and / or exit being individually recorded in the event memory. Moreover, a system for the control of employees can be integrated in this type of system.

Access control systems

These may be one-way or bidirectional for an access path.

  • Unidirectional = one-way control system, ie, there is a card reader at the entrance and a button or sensor is used for output.
  • Bidirectional = a two-way control system, ie a card reader is mounted on the entrance and exit, and for each entry or exit, each person uses the individual card.

Of course, the complexity of access control and time control systems may differ, as is their component. Thus, access control stations, fingerprint readers, force electromagnets, emergency exit buttons, etc. may appear.

If the protected object has multiple access ways, the access control panels connect to each other in order to be controlled from a single computer / server.

There are stand-alone readers that can be connected directly to the Voice Data Network of the protected building, and will be controlled and monitored with management software from any computer connected to the building network and externally via the Internet. The advantages of this type of access control system are that there is no need for cabling between readers (central), each of which is connected to the nearest switch or mains socket.
